The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR — EU 2024/1781) entered into force in July 2024. It mandates Digital Product Passports across nearly all physical product categories sold in the European Union. Consumer electronics requirements begin between 2027 and 2029. Non-compliant products will be barred from the EU market.
