Frequently Asked Questions
What does the platform provide?
Universal Goods generates a Unique Product Identifier (UPI) for every physical product, ready to be embedded on packaging or items at the manufacturer or factory level. Each UPI resolves to a full Digital Product Passport covering identification, provenance, composition, sustainability, and circularity data.
Do you provide compliance support?
The Pay-As-You-Go plan is fully self-serve and does not include professional services from the Family Labs team. Hands-on compliance consultation, schema customisation, and ongoing maintenance are reserved for Enterprise contracts. Reach out if you're interested.
Does this make me compliant with EU Digital Product Passport regulations?
Yes. Our data schema follows the JTC24 standards aligned with ESPR 2024/1781, and every UPI is automatically registered against the Central EU Registry. You receive a verifiable, regulator-ready passport for each product.
Can we migrate our existing DPPs to your platform?
Absolutely. If you're operating at meaningful volume, reach out to speak with the sales team about migration support and volume discounts available under our Enterprise contracts.
Please be aware that the Universal Goods Protocol is simply an open infrastructure that issues and tokenises Digital Product Passports. The accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of the underlying product data is the legal responsibility of the issuing brand or manufacturer.
